I am often asked “how long does therapy last?” and my answer is “as long as it takes”. I practice from a psychodynamic perspective, which means I pay attention to feelings and beliefs that emerge from one’s lived experience. Our history plays an important role in emotional development and our sense of self. It is my desire to help those who feel their emotional state is interfering with living fully, creatively, and freely in the present. It is my belief that psychotherapy, at its best, is a place, in which you are listened to, understood, and responded to honestly and directly.

If you have tried treatment before, suffer from depression or anxiety, are attempting to change unsatisfying patterns in your life, and find you need to understand your motivations at greater depth, I invite you to consult and discuss an insight oriented study of yourself in psychodynamically based psychotherapy.

Over the last 12 years, I have gained experience working in medical social work with liver transplant patients, inpatient psychiatric settings, and in academia as an instructor for Loma Linda University School of Social Work. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. My dissertation “The lived experiences of Animal Rescue Workers” is in progress.

When I am not in session I am a busy wife and mother. I am a born-again Christian and if you would like to incorporate Christian truth in sessions I believe the ultimate healer is the Father of Lights.

I'm so happy you are here and taking the first step toward change in your life! Are you overwhelmed by stressors in your life & struggling with feeling sad, lonely, nervous, tired and/or irritable? Every day habits can be very scary to change or modify. It is possible you have been practicing these habits for so long you have forgotten where they began. Our job is to work together to identify the core issues driving those symptoms and find healthier ways of living the life you want. Please know you are not alone in this journey.

I am passionate about helping people grow, change, and be their best self by creating a safe and non-judgmental space where they feel comfortable gaining new perspectives. I am dedicated to supporting and encouraging clients throughout their therapeutic journey, in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.

I want to foster a space of acceptance and warmth with positive, respectful, empathic and compassionate approach drawing on aspects of Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches and focusing on strengths.

Before becoming a social worker, I held a career in public safety. My entire life has been spent helping those in their worst moments. Therefore, when it came time for a career change, the natural progression led me toward another career where I would continue to help others. I graduated from Loma Linda University School of Behavioral Health with a Masters in Social Work, and currently work as a psychotherapist and medical social worker for individuals who are in need of a liver transplant. I work with clients to uncover strengths and develop skills to live, feel, and function better. I believe everyone has individual needs and therapy and counseling must be tailored accordingly. I can help you uncover and work toward what you want from your life and relationships. I use diverse interventions from schools of therapy including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. My approach is low pressure and non-judgmental. I have ample clinical experience in providing therapy to those who have experienced trauma, with a specialty in individuals who serve in the military and public safety. When I am not helping people, I spend my spare time helping furry four-legged animals. I am a proud mom to French Bulldogs and help a small local rescue. I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and working out. Balance is key in life, and I am here to help you obtain your goals.
